LANGUAGE ARTS GRADING PROCEDURES
FOR 7TH GRADE
- Tests and projects count as 50% of grade.
- Quizzes, class work, and homework count as 50% of grade.
- AR score counts as a test grade.
- One AR score per nine weeks is required for regular classes.
- Two AR scores per nine weeks are required for enriched classes.
- AR book level must be 6.0 or higher and worth at least 4 points, or worth at least 25 points at any book level.
- Book reports count for up to four test grades, depending upon the complexity of the project.
- One book report required per nine weeks
- Rubric provided for book report requirements
- Other projects count as two or more grades, depending upon the complexity of the project.
- Class work assignments count as individual grades.
- Homework counts as one grade.
- Randomly check homework during the grading period. (Conduct a minimum of five checks.)
- Students either have the homework completed or not.
- Students only receive credit for the homework if it is completed when it is checked.
- Students lose 10 points (from the homework grade of 100) for each homework assignment that is not completed when it is checked.
- The maximum score that will be given for assignments that are turned in late is a score of 70.
